While folks may be out of work or reeling from the latest hit on their 401(k)s, they’re still shopping their favorite party shop.Customers, though, are changing their buying habits some beverage store owners said Friday.“I do notice people are buying the cheaper brands,” said Tommy Meetze, co-owner of BG’s Booze Barn in South Congaree.Although brand loyalty is a key driver of hard liquor sales, some stores reported they have noticed people passing on the $50 bottle of scotch whisky for another label that costs $30 or even $15.Suzie Riga, vice president of operations for Green’s Discount Beverage Stores, said she hasn’t noticed much of a shift in brand loyalty among customers shopping the premium-priced spirits.
